Lake Central Cross Country Shines in All-Duneland Athletic Conference Selections ST. JOHN, IN — The Duneland Athletic Conference (DAC) has announced its 2025 All-Conference Cross Country Teams, and Lake Central High School was well represented on both the boys’ and girls’ sides following another outstanding season. The Lake Central girls’ cross country team claimed the DAC Championship and placed an impressive five runners on the 12-member All-Conference team — the most of any school. Leading the way was Macey Thompson, who earned DAC Most Valuable Runner honors. Thompson capped off her season with a remarkable performance at the IHSAA State Finals, finishing runner-up with a time of 17:18, setting a new school record. Joining Thompson on the All-DAC team were Lana Bruggeman (state medalist), Sara Filippo, Aubrey Neal, and Chloe Neal, all of whom played pivotal roles in Lake Central’s dominant conference title and finish at the state meet. On the boys’ side, Lake Central placed fourth overall in the team standings and landed two runners on the All-DAC roster — Ben Perschon and Lucca Neves — both recognized for their strong seasons and consistent performances throughout the fall.
