Lake Central Girls’ Basketball Falls to Crown Point, 46–33 Lake Central’s girls’ basketball team battled tough throughout Friday night’s DAC matchup with Crown Point, but ultimately came up short in a 46–33 loss. Despite the final margin, the contest was much closer than the score indicates. Alex Myszak led Lake Central offensively, finishing with a team-high 10 points on an efficient 4-of-8 shooting from the field. The Indians also received strong production in the post, as Jill Beaderstadt and Emma Szany provided steady interior scoring and physical play. Beaderstadt recorded 9 points and 5 rebounds, while Szany added 6 points and 6 boards, showcasing solid post moves and finishing around the basket. Lake Central’s defense and effort kept the game within reach deep into the contest. The Indians now stand at 7–6 overall and will look to bounce back on Monday when they travel to Carl Sandburg. Indians Stay Perfect with 60–39 Home Win Over Hammond Morton Lake Central’s boys’ basketball team continued its strong start to the season Saturday night, defeating Hammond Morton 60–39 at home to improve to 5–0 on the year. The Indians set the tone early and maintained control throughout, using balanced scoring and a strong defensive effort to pull away as the game progressed. Noah Enyeart once again led the way, posting game highs of 16 points and 9 rebounds. Evan Geller contributed a strong all-around performance with 9 points and 7 rebounds. From the perimeter, Cooper Kroncke provided a spark, knocking down four three-pointers on his way to 12 points. With the win, the Indians carry momentum into a highly anticipated road matchup tonight at Munster, as Lake Central looks to keep its unbeaten run alive against a tough opponent.
