Gymnastics Readies for Sectionals by Finishing 2nd in the DAC

LC finished their dual meet season 6-1, and then finished in a rare tie for 2nd at DACs, pushing them passed Portage for the 2nd spot. Valparaiso was the outright champion. 🏆 Team Standings: Valparaiso — 110.700 Lake Central — 105.650 Portage — 105.650 Merrillville — 104.475 Chesterton — 103.600 Crown Point — 103.375 LaPorte — 101.675 Michigan City — 93.500 Senior Gabriella Arroyo turned in a great balance beam routine (9.400) to finish 2nd in the event. Kailynn Paat finished in 10th in the beam. Paat performed a 9.550 floor exercise routine to finish 2nd in the event. Marina Negrete finished 9th on the floor, and Arroyo 11th. On the vault exercise, Patt was 11th, Gabrielle Robbins 12th, Emily Bishop 14th, and Sophia Rodriguez 16th. Paat once again led LC on the uneven bars: She finished in 8th position. Rodriguez finished 10th, and Arroyo finished 15th. Kailynn Paat was 6th place overall in the All-Around competition. She will look to help lead the Indians in the IHSAA Sectional hosted by Crown Point on Saturday.
