LC Advances to the Friday Sectional Semi-Final with Convincing Quarterfinal Win Box Score Q1 Q2 Q3 Q4 F LC 16 16 22 8 62 Morton 7 7 6 5 25 The IHSAA Sectional for boys' basketball opened up Tuesday night with game 1 featuring Lake Central verse Hammond Morton. The Indians defense was stifling from the tip, allowing just 25 points for the game. The Indians controlled the glass, accrued 8 steals, and had 13 deflections in an effort that held Morton in single digits all four quarters. On the offensive end, senior Noah Enyeart had a game high 23 points on 7/16 shooting; Enyeart also had a game high 12 rebounds. Senior, Evan Geller scored 10 points including a huge buzzer beating 3 at the end of the first to completely shift the momentum; Geller snagged 6 boards for LC. Jakob Billmeyer added 12 points and finished extremely well at the basket. Sophomore, Christian Martinez had a well-rounded effort. Martinez had 9 points to go along with 4 rebounds and 3 assists. LC advances to Friday's semi-final match-up against the Munster Mustangs. Tip-off will be approximately 25 minutes after the completion of the Crown Point vs Hammond Central game. The Indians are looking to win their first sectional since 2018.
