Golf Wins the Marquette Invitational The Indians were victorious on Saturday at Municipal Golf Course in Michigan City for the Marquette Invitational. The Indians shot 319 as a team besting second place Illiana Christian by 8 strokes and third place Chesterton by 19 strokes. Cooper Kroncke shot a 77 to lead LC and finish in a tie for second place. Logan Carroll fired a 79 to finish in 6th place, and Cole Sullivan shot an 80 to finish in 8th. Drew Barkauskas shot an 83 and James Matlon an 86. Softball Sweeps Double Header Against Edwardsburg--Lexi Iwema Breaks Single Season and Career HR Records In game 1 of the twin bill, the Indians managed to score 17 runs on just 8 hits. The Indians used a 10-run third inning to leave no doubt in this one. Madi Wainright led the offensive charge with 3 hits, including a HR and a double. Wainright drove in 4. Tegan Tripp and Maddie Such both homered. Such was the winning pitcher striking out 4 in 3 innings. Freshman Colbie Tressel threw four scoreless in the second game to earn the victory. Sophia Cembala pitched a hitless and scoreless 5th. The Indians won this won 11-0. Lexi Iwema stole the show in this one with 2 titanic homeruns. Her first tied the school record for single season homeruns with 10; the single season record was held by Kiley Connor in 2022. It also tied the career record which was previously held by Alex Hickey. Iwema's second homerun of the day made her the single season homerun record holder with 11. She now has 11 homeruns in her first 11 games! This homerun was also her 24th career homerun, making her the new standard for homeruns in this historic softball program.
