Girls' Tennis Moves to 4-0 The girls' tennis team traveled to Andrean Monday evening to take on the 59ers. LC won 4-1. The Indians were victorious at #1 and #3 singles as well as #1 and #2 doubles (see match-ups below). This evening the Indians travel to Michigan City for a DAC match. Both teams entered with flawless DAC records and this figured to be a crucial game in the standings. This game lived up to the hype. Both teams pitching was outstanding. LC used a combination of Colbie Tressel, Jada Lewis, and Maddie Such. Tressel started and worked two innings allowing one unearned run. Lewis tossed 5 strong innings, allowing just 3 hits and fanning 4. Maddie Such struck out 9 and earned the win in her four innings of relief work. LC moved to 5-0 in the DAC and 12-0 overall. The Indians struggled to get things going offensively. Madi Wainright had a pair of hits and the game winning homerun in the top of the 11th. She sent a moonshot, no doubter over the centerfield fence to put the Indians ahead for good. Lexi Iwema had the other hit. LC will host Merrillville this evening. The JV game didn't hold the excitement the varsity game did; however, LC was dominant in an 11-1 victory. Madison Alexander tossed a 7 inning complete game gem; she struck out 10 CP hitters. The Indians combined for 17 hits. Ava Musch and Ava DeNormandie both homered. Addy Mikolanis drove in 4. Aubrey Richardson and Kayla Scheuneman each had 3 hits. Volleyball Beats Chesterton in 5 Sets to Remain Unbeated The LC Boys Volleyball Program won another close DAC match last night beating Chestertin 3-2 ( 20-25, 19-25, 25-14, 25-11, and 15-13) in the 2nd reverse sweep of the season. The JV swept the Trojans 2-0. The Indians were led by Danny Smith and Christian Czarnik both with 14 kills; Keri Conrath’s 12 kills; Brady Cook’s 23 assists; Nelko Dragulski’s 20 assists and 8 kills; and Juan Flores’s 18 digs.
