Lake Central earned its 2nd consecutive trip to the IHSAA State Finals by winning the Valparaiso Regional on Saturday. The Indians historic season continues. LC has now completed consecutive unbeaten DAC seasons and won consecutive IHSAA Sectional and Regional Championships. The Indians will take their 25-2 record to Indianapolis (Lawrence North High School) on Saturday. The Indians will play the second semi-final against Indianapolis Cathedral at approximately 12 PM CST. The 1st semi-final will feature state ranked #1 Roncalli vs Cathedral. The Indians were as dominant as they've been this season, cruising to a 3-0 sweep. LC won 25-10; 25-13; and 25-16 to leave no doubt. In the championship match, LC played Andrean. Andrean had dominated the Indians in regular season play, defeating LC on its home court 3-1. This match was different: The Indians were the more superior team from the 1st serve. They defeated the 59ers in straight sets--25-18; 25-23; and 25-13. The IHSAA tournament for boys' volleyball is now in its second season, and the Indians have been a part of both State Finals. Three of the 4 participants this year also appeared last year: LC, Cathedral, and Roncalli.
