This sets up a showdown between the number 1 and 2 teams in Indiana tonight at Lake Central. LC will square off against Crown Point and try to avenge last year's sectional loss. Crown Point defeated Hammond Morton in the first semi-final game of the evening. Maddie Such took the ball and tossed a gem last night: She allowed one run in the first inning and went unblemished from that point. Such struck out 10 Mustang hitters, allowing only 3 hits. The Indian bats were a bit cold in this one. LC had a combined 6 hits and fanned 11 times. After falling behind 1-0 after 1, LC manufactured a pair of runs in the 3rd and that proved to be all the scoring they would need. Piper Urbanski led off the inning with a base on balls. MaKayla Van Vossen went down on strikes. Madi Wainright laid down a bunt for a single to put runners on 1st and 2nd. Lexi Iwema flew out to shallow left, setting up a 2-out at bat for Tegan Tripp. Urbanski and Kaitlyn Streiler (courtesy ran for Wainright) moved to 2nd and 3rd on a passed ball. Tripp laced a 3-1 single to center field to score both.
