Lake Central High School

The Lake Central Indians got 2 impressive pitching performances and an offensive burst in each semi-state game on Saturday as they earned a birth in the state finals for just the second time in school history. Griffin Tobias got the ball against Westfield in game 1. Despite falling behind early, Tobias was completely dominant as LC beat Westield 5-1. Quinn O'Bryan had a 2 RBI double. Parker Robinson, Brendan Smith, and Tobias all had game and momentum changing extra base hits. In game 2, Blake Sivak was just as dominant in his pitching performance as Lake Central cruised to a 6-1 victory over Homestead. LC bats were quiet to start, as they went 9 up and 9 down. The offense started with a Tobias 2-RBI single and they never stopped. The big blow was a Ryder Fernandez 2-run double. Victor Villegas and Nick Robinson added RBI singles late. LC moves on the play state ranked #1 Mooresville (32-3) for a State Championship on Saturday.
