Cross Country-- The boys' and girls' cross country team headed to Terre Haute for a State Preview (Valley Kick-Off 2024) hosted at the LaVern Gibson Championship Course. The boys' finished 5th as a team and were led by Ben Perschon (11th) who finished in 5th place. Kris Garner finished 22nd and Evan Smith 29th to pace the boys. The girls' finished 2nd as a team led by sophomore Macey Thompson, who was the individual champion. Chloe Neal (10th) finished in 6th place, and freshman Lana Bruggeman finished in 8th. The girls had a great weekend finishing 3-1 overall; third place overall as a team. Lake Central defeated Cathedral, North Central, and Illiana Christian and fell to Crown Point. Girls' Golf Lake Central shot a 349, good enough for 5th place, at Chippendale Golf course (par 73) at the Western Invitational. LC is now the #16 ranked team in Indiana.
