Weekend Recap: Girls' XC Stays Hot and Girls' Soccer Beats Warsaw

Girls' XC: The girls' cross country team won the Wildcat Invite, which featured some of the state's best runners, on Saturday. They were led by Macey Thompson who ran an 18:37. Chloe Neal, Lana Bruggeman, Aubrey Neal and Roxann Martinez were all in the top 25. JV was led by Addy Blair who ran a time of 23:54. The Indians will head to New Prairie this weekend and try to keep their winning streak alive. This meet featured several of Indiana's top 10 teams. Ben Peschon had another great performance as he lead LC and finished 3rd overall (15:52:20). Kris Garner finished in 11th overall and Evan Smith finished 30th for the Indians. The team finished 5th overall in the loaded field. The Indians will run at New Prairie this weekend. The Indians and Elkhart played to a 1-1 tie. George Karabatsos scored the lone goal for the Indians. The defensive effort and effort behind goal was excellent. LC is now 3-3-4 on the season and look forward to playing at LaPorte on Wednesday. Girls' Soccer: Lake Central 2 Warsaw 1 Lake Central picked up a big non-conference win over the Warsaw Tigers on Saturday. LC moved to 6-3 overall. Goals were scored by Leah Rocha and Bella Soria, and Leah and Bella both had an assist as well. Olivia Pelot contributed 10 saves in goal.
