Golf Wins 65th Annual Lou Iaconetti

LC hosted the 65th Annual Lou Iaconetti Golf Invitational at Palmira Golf & Country Club this weekend. The Indians played well and finished in a tie with Trinity at 310. The 5th score came into play and Cooper Kroncke's 77 was 9 strokes better than Trinity's 5th score. This was LC's first victory since 2017. In 2017, LC finished in a tie with Crown Point as the event was suspended for weather. Logan Carrol fired a 76 Saturday and earned 4th place medalist honors. The Indians JV finished in 6th place overall with a 323. LC Varsity: Tyler Morton 77, Troy Howell, 79, Matthew Tuley 77, Carter McCall 83, Cooper Kroncke 77 LC JV: Logan Carrol 76, Cole Sullivan 77, Drew Barkauskas 85, James Matlon 88, Yianni Boufis 85 LC 11-13: Jack Moore 90, Tyler Kroczek 92, Evan Swinarski 79 Varsity Baseball vs Northridge/NorthWood and @ Hanover Central LC 8 Northridge 6 LC 9 NorthWood 2 LC 4 Hanover Central 6 LC hosted Northridge and NorthWood in a shared classic with Crown Point Saturday. The Indians earned two hard fought wins. Zach Nicola got the game 1 win and Owen Kopercinski earned the save. Tyler Colburn had a double and a home run to lead the offense. Dylan Hein had a pair of hits and drove in 3. Against NorthWood, Ethan Chapman went 6 strong for the win and Trevor Kubacki closed it out. The Indians smashed 16 hits in this wone. Parker Robinson led the way with 4 hits, Ryder Fernandez and Hein each had 3 hits. Memorial Day morning the Indians headed to Hanover Central for a final tune-up before postseason play. LC jumped out to a 4 run lead after two. Hanover scored 6 unanswered for the victory. Josh Flores was the pitcher of record. The Indians managed just 5 hits all from Jake Figg, Hein, and Drew Kosteba. LC finished an impressive 24-5 for the regular season. JV (White) Baseball @ Avon Tournament LC 9 Avon 3 LC 8 Plainfield 3 Against Avon, Josh Sautter went the distance allowing just 3 hits. Jaxon Glinski, Alek Pohrte, and Braeden Sullivan all had 2 hits. Adrian Claussen earned the win against Plainfield and Michael Zilinger tossed a scoreless 1.2 innings. Malachi Weinum, Benny Tobias, Claussen, and Zilinger each had multi-hit games.
