The boys' golf team captured the 2025 IHSAA Sectional Championship yesterday and Palmira Golf and Country Club. The boys' competed against 13 teams for the team title. LC had won 5 consecutive sectionals from 2006-2010 and won again in 2012. The '25 championship was their first since 2021. The Indians had a well-rounded finish from all golfers: Tyler Morton fired a 75 which placed him in a 3-way tie for first. Morton entered a playoff for low medalist with an Andrean and Illiana golfer. On the first playoff hole, Andrean was eliminated as his ball went into the hazard. Morton sunk a 6' putt to send it to a second playoff hole. He fell just short of low medalist and finished in 2nd place overall in the 61 golfer field. Troy Howell and Logan Carroll finished in a tie for 5th place with scores of 77 each. Matt Tuley fired an 84 for the 4th score needed to get LC to 313 and the team championship. Andrean finished in 2nd with 319; Munster was 3rd with a 320, and Crown Point (321) and Illiana Christian (327) fell just short of advancing. The IHSAA Regional will take place on Thursday, June 12th at Sandy Pines Golf Club. The Indians will tee off at 8:50 from the first tee box, with Logan Carroll being the first to go off. The Indians were also DAC Champions this season.
