Boys' Soccer vs Chesterton JV--LC 0 Chesterton 1 V--LC 1 Chesterton 1 (LC wins in PKs) The Lake Central Indians proved their toughness and heart in dramatic fashion, defeating rival Chesterton on penalty kicks to lock up at least a share of the Duneland Athletic Conference championship. The Indians faced major adversity, playing the final 30 minutes of regulation and both overtime periods with only nine players. Despite the disadvantage, Lake Central’s defense held strong, turning away repeated Chesterton attacks and refusing to concede. After 80 minutes of regulation and two tense overtimes, the match went to penalty kicks. Lake Central showed nerves of steel, calmly finishing their chances while goalkeeper Conner Billmeyer made clutch saves to seal the victory. The victory guarantees Lake Central at least a share of the DAC crown and sends a powerful message as the postseason approaches. With momentum on their side, the Indians will look to build on one of the most resilient wins in program history. LC will travel to Bishop Noll for JV and V soccer on Saturday. Kaden Vickery scored the lone LC goal in the 1st half.
