Fr/JV/V Football vs Michigan City Freshman-Lake Central picked up a road victory at Michigan City 20-0. Lake Central was led on the ground with 3 rushing touchdowns by QB Frankie Taffora, Nathan Greer, and Marlow Rimpson. The defense was led by Riggens Roderick and RJ Edwards providing several tackles on the day. Aiden Siwinski anchored the defensive line along with Derek Jones and Conner Donovan, limiting the Wolves run game. The Indian's improved to 4-2 on the season and return home next week to square off with Chesterton Thursday evening at 6pm. JV-The JV went on the road to Michigan City and came back with a 23-14 victory. V--Lake Central hosted Michigan City for Homecoming on Friday evening. With over 3,000 in attendance LC gave it everything it had, trailing a good Michigan City team by one score in the 4th quarter. The Indians eventually fell 37-17 in a game that was a lot more competitive than the score. Wes Lalich threw for over 200 yards and 2 touchdowns. Frank Verta had 5 receptions for 148 yards and 2 touchdowns, including one that went for 82 yards. TJ Ohlenkamp kicked two field goals for LC. The Indians travel to Chesterton on Friday. Ethen Gonzalez also finished in the top 20. The girls cross country team placed 2nd at the Highland Invite. They were led by Sara Filippo who was 8th overall and was the top freshmen finisher running a time of 19:57. Roxann Martinez finished 15th and Katelyn Smith was 17th. Both teams will race at La Porte on Saturday for the DAC Championship. Boys' Soccer @ Bishop Noll JV white: LC 0 Bishop Noll 2 Varsity: LC 1 Bishop Noll 4 Lake Central fell to a very talented Bishop Noll team on the road Saturday. Aaron Puch scored the lone goal for LC. LC is now 10-3-1 overall and they'll finish up DAC play this week against Valparaiso.
