Boys' Soccer Wins Sectional in Convincing Fashion

Lake Central Boys Soccer Captures 24th Sectional Championship with Dominant Win Over Munster The Lake Central boys soccer team added another chapter to its storied tradition Saturday night, claiming the program’s 24th sectional title with an impressive 6-0 victory over Munster. The Indians came out sharp and never looked back. Kaden Vickery opened the scoring before Ethan Tarry and Evan Crowley each netted two goals apiece to put the match out of reach. Lake Central’s final goal came on a Munster own goal, sealing the commanding win. Tarry and Joey Serna each tallied assists, helping the offense stay in rhythm throughout the night. Meanwhile, Connor Billmeyer anchored a rock-solid defensive performance, turning away every Mustang opportunity to secure the shutout. With the victory, Lake Central advances to the Regional semifinals, where they will face Crown Point on Wednesday. The Indians will look to carry their momentum forward as they continue their postseason run and pursue another deep tournament push. Lake Central Girls Soccer Concludes Strong Season in Sectional Final The Lake Central girls soccer team’s impressive season came to an end in the sectional championship with a 5-0 loss to Crown Point. Despite the setback, the Indians have plenty to be proud of after an outstanding year. Lake Central finished the season with a 13-3 overall record. The team’s effort and determination were on full display all season long, setting a strong foundation for the future. As the Indians head into the offseason, they’ll look to build on this year’s success. Lake Central Falls to Merrillville 42-18 The Lake Central football team battled hard Friday night but came up short in a 42-18 home loss to Merrillville. The Indians showed flashes of strong offensive play throughout the game. Jacob Turley led the scoring effort with two rushing touchdowns on 10 carries. Cam Reddick had a solid all-around performance, rushing for 80 yards and passing for over 100 yards through the air. Frank Verta added 47 receiving yards, while Christian Reed provided a highlight with a 43-yard run. Lake Central will look to bounce back as they travel to Valparaiso on Friday for their next matchup.
