JV/V Softball Add 2 Wins/Volleyball Defeats MC/Baseball Falls to Valparaiso/Boys' T/F Opens Outdoor Season

Boys' Volleyball Sweeps Michigan City on Monday The boys' volleyball team played host to the Michigan City Wolves Monday evening. This was a varsity only contest, and the Indians were impressive defeating the conference foe in straight sets. S1 S2 S3 MC 8 9 17 LC 25 25 25 LC is now 6-0 overall and 4-0 in the DAC. The Indians will travel to Hanover tonight. JV/V Softball Earn 2 Wins Apiece Against Lowell and LaPorte On Monday night, the varsity softball team avenged last season's loss to Lowell with a 9-1 victory. The Indians scored 3 runs in the 1st, 3rd, and 4th innings to cruise to victory. Maddie Such and Jada Lewis combined for 15ks in this one; Such was the pitcher of record. LC used the long ball to their advantage: Such, Teagan Tripp, and MaKayla Van Vossen all homered. Tripp and Sofia Beals both had multi-hit games. Last night, LC opened up conference play against the La Porte Slicers and used a 13 run explosion in the 3rd and 4th innings to win in a run-rule shortened game 15-0. Lewis was the pitcher of record; Lewis and Sophia Cembala combined on the 3-hitter. Four Indians had multi-hit games. They were led by Lexi Iwema's 3 hits and 4 RBIs and Such's 3 hits and 2 RBIs. Van Vosssen (3 RBIs) and Tripp both added 2 hits. LC is now 3-0 overall and 1-0 in the DAC. They'll travel to Michigan City tonight to continue DAC play. The junior varsity also picked up 2 wins: They defeated Lowell 15-0 and La Porte 10-0. Madison Alexander tossed the 10K, shutout against Lowell. Parker Reddick, Ava DeNormandie, and Addy Mikolanis each had 2 hits. Kayla Scheuneman had 3 RBIs. Against La Porte, Zoe Salgado allowed just three hits and struck out 7 Slicers. Makenna Fazio, Ava Musch, Mira Bickell, and Kylee Velez had mutli-hit games. Fazio homered in the win. Varsity Baseball Drops its DAC Opener to Valparaiso and JV Blue and White Both Earn Wins The Indians dropped their DAC opener to Valparaiso at home yesterday 14-3. LC mustered just 5 hits; Keegan O'Bryan had 2 hits and 2 RBIs and Logan Barbush doubled. Justin Makowski made his 1st career start and was the losing pitcher of record in his 2 innings of work. The Indians' pitching staff combined for 15 base on balls and 3 HBP in this one. LC is now 2-1 (0-1 DAC) on the season, and they'll look to bounce back tonight at Valparaiso. The JV Blue also hosted Valparaiso last night and defeated the Vikings 8-1. Josh Sautter earned the win tossing 5 scoreless. Ben Berwanger threw 2 solid innings of relief and was charged with an unearned run. Ben Schultz had 3 hits and Zachary Zimmermamn had 2 hits. The JV White defeated Valparaiso 12-2 in a run-rule shortened game. Max Cherny earned the win allowing just 2 hits in his work. Nate Sanchez led the offensive charge with 3 hits: Colin Maurer, Alex Graziano, Evin Munoz, and Max Cherny had 2 hits apiece. Boys' T/F Traveled to Valparaiso for an Unscored Meet The boys' track and field team traveled to Valparaiso for an unscored meet to open the outdoor season last night and prepare for Munster's Ed Woodrick Invitational this weekend.
