The Indians remain unbeaten in the DAC and will travel to Valparaiso for a make-up contest this evening. LC was led by Danny Smith’s 18 kills. Nelko Dragulski and Brady Cook combined for 31 assists, and Juan Flores had18 digs. Softball Picks Up a Pair of Wins at La Porte HS The girls found themselves in a tight game heading into the top of the 5th. With the Indians leading 2-1, they put up a 5-spot and cruised to a 9-1 victory. Madi Waingright smashed 2 homeruns and drove in 3 runs to lead the offense. MaKayla Van Vossen also drove in 3. Maddie Such and Colbie Tressel combined on the 2-hit complete game. They fanned 17 collectively. Such was the pitcher of record. The JV ran off 13 straight runs after falling behind 1-0. Kensie Johnson was the winning pitcher and also added 2 hits. Ava Richardson, Addy Mikolanis, and Kylee Velez also had multi-hit games. Baseball Drops Home Game vs Chesterton Boys' baseball flipped locations with the Chesterton Trojans last night, and they hosted the Trojans. LC fell behind early in this one and could never really recover, falling 13-5. Ryan Mikolanis was the pitcher of record. Anthony Sanchez threw 2 1/3 innings of strong relief. The Indians mustered just 6 hits for the game. Brayden Walls hit his first homerun of the year, and Parker Robinson had a single and a double. The two teams will do it again today at Chesterton. LC is now 7-4 and 3-3 in the DAC. The JV ran their record to 8-1-1 with a 3-2 road win against the Trojans last night. Riggens Roerdink threw 6 strong, allowing just 2 hits and striking out 6. Ben Berwanger led the offense with 3 hits; Ben Schultz and Zachary Zimmerman each had a pair of hits. Boys' T/F Beats Valparaiso and Portage Convincingly on Senior Night The boys defeated both Portage and Valparaiso in their triangular last night, as they celebrated their 29 senior runners and field athletes.
