Volleyball Defeats Valparaiso 3-2 in Continued Match The Boys Volleyball Program remained undefeated in the DAC with their 3rd reverse sweep of the season beating Valpo last night 3-2 ( 21-25, 21-25, 25-21, 25-20, and 15-10). The varsity Indians will take their 14-1 overall and 10-0 DAC record on the road to Michigan City tonight. The Indians were led by: Christian Czarnik’s 15 kills; Nelko Dragulski’s 12 kills and 23 assists; Brady Cook’s 25 assists; and Juan Flores' 29 digs. Softball Stays in Cruise Control The Indians' softball team continued its DAC dominance with a 15-0 victory over the visiting Michigan City Wolves. Sophia Cembala earned the win with her 5 inning complete game. Cembala struck out 9 and allowed one hit in the first inning. LC had 19 hits, including 8 that went for extra bases. Madi Wainright, Lexi Iwema (HR), Tegan Tripp, Maddie Such, Jada Lewis, Emma Wilkins, Piper Urbanski, and Cali Ramirez all recorded at least two hits. Iwema and Such had 3 hits. LC will play host to the Raiders of Lafayette Harrison on Friday. Boys' Golf Splits with CP and LaPorte LC's varsity boys golf team took second place in their first conference match against Crown Point and La Porte. It was a very close match and the players played well in very cold conditions. Shout out to Cole Sullivan and James Matlon for tying second place medalist with a score of 39. The boys JV team got third place in the match beating La Porte's varsity team. We are now 1-1 in the conference. They're now 7-5 overall and 3-4 in the DAC with a DAC game at Michigan City tonight. Marc Passo threw well in the loss allowing just 3 runs over the complete game effort. Passo fanned 4 Trojans. The Indians couldn't get much going offensively, as Tyler Thuftedal had the lone hit. LC left 6 baserunners on base. The JV Blue defeated Chesterton at home 5-1 yesterday to run their record to 9-1-1 overall. Freshman, Cam Bravo tossed 6 great innings and struck out 6. Zachary Zimmerman worked a scoreless 7th. Lazar Alavanja had a pair of hits, including a triple. Adrian Claussen drove in 2. The JV White defeated the Trojans 8-7. Frankie Taffora was the winning pitcher in his 3 relief innings. Nate Sanchez had a pair of hits, including a double for LC.
