Girls' Tennis Finishes 2nd at Delta The girls' tennis team is now 9-1 overall on the season and 3-1 in the Duneland. At Delta, the ladies finished 2nd as a team in a strong field. En route to the second place finish, they defeated state ranked Bishop Chatard 3-2. LC fell just short against Fort Wayne Carroll, falling 3-2. Next up for the Indians is Chesterton at home tomorrow. This game teetered back-and -forth the entire way if that's a sign of things to come for the sectional match-up. The game saw 3 lead changes with Munster scoring 2 in extras to prevail 4-3. Owen Kopercinski (no decision) threw 6 strong, striking out 6 and allowing just 4 hits. Justin Makowski was the losing pitcher in his two innings of relief. Parker Robinson had a pair of hits, and Connor Friesema drove in 2. On Saturday, the Indians hosted Lincoln-Way Central (IL) and earned a hard fought 3-2 victory to run their overall record to 9-6. Sophomore Josh Sautter tossed a complete game, allowing just 1 earned run, to earn the victory. Keegan O'Bryan pounded out 3 of LC's 6 hits to lead the offensive. He also drove in one. LC will host Portage on Tuesday and travel to Portage on Wednesday. Unified Track Competes in DAC Tri- Our unified team competed in a DAC Triangular at Valparaiso. The 4X100 girls' relay team of Alexa Wellman, Elizabeth Conroy, Joanie Kusbel, and Kloe Peach earned a 1st place finish. Colin Blankenship, Lexi Smith, Justin Krucina, and Noah Scheele earned a 4th place finish. Scheele finished 11th overall in the 100M, he finished 6th in the 400, and 4th in the long jump. Reed Sepulveda finished 8th in the 400. LC will host Munster and Crown Point on Thursday.
