Girls' Tennis Cruises to Sectional Championship The Indians are now 15-3 overall and will play for a Sectional Championship tonight at Highland against the Munster Mustangs. LC is seeking its first title since 2017. Last night, the girls played the host Highland Trojans and were victorious 5-0. The Indians are now 18-8 overall and finished conference play at 9-5 (4th place). LC is set to close up its regular season against De LaSalle on Friday and Hanover Central on Monday. Both games will be at home. Ryan Mikolanis earned the 5 inning complete game victory; he allowed just 2 hits and fanned 7 Pirates. LC combined for 11 hits. Connor Friesema led the way with 2 hits, 2 runs, and 2 batted in. Victor Villegas also had a pair of hits and scored a pair of runs. Keegan O'Bryan, Brody Yates, and Jake Forystek each scored 2 runs. The JV blue defeated Merrillville 17-0 on the combined one-hit victory. Mateo Kluga, Zach Zimmerman, and Benny Tobias combined for the victory. Ben Schultz, Matt Tuftedal, and Kluga all had 2 hits. The blue will host Hanover Central tonight on the turf. Boys' Golf Goes 1-1 in DAC-Tri The boys golf team competed against Crown Point (the top team in the DAC) and Michigan City yesterday. The Indians lost the 5th score tiebreaker to Crown Point but defeated Michigan City.
