**Girls' Golf Shoots Well at HoF Classic and Finishes DAC Slate Unbeated Lake Central 161 Valparaiso 183 Portage 229 Lake Central shot a 326 and finished 10th out of 21 teams in a loaded field at The Hall of Fame tournament at The Legends Golf Club (Creek/Road) Par 72). Katelyn Benda 72 (5th 🏅) Piper Urbanski 81 Alex Schilling 87 Maya Parks 86 Cora McCall 101 The girls Golf team took on Portage and Valparaiso at Valparaiso Country club last night. LC picked up 2 more wins moving their DAC record to 7-0. LC was led by senior Maya Parks who shot a career low 1 over par 38. Katelyn Benda added a 40, Piper Urbanski a 41 and Alex Schilling a 42. The state ranked #11 Indians travel to Warsaw this weekend. **Football Falls at Home vs Hanover Central V--Hanover Central 24 Lake Central 21 JV--HC 6 Lake Central 26 The Indians fell to 0-2 after losing a very competitive game against Hanover Central (24-21). The JV is now 2-0 on the season. LC travels to Portage to open up DAC play on Friday. Q1 Q2 Q3 Q4 Final Hanover Central 3 14 0 7 24 Lake Central 6 7 0 8 21 **Boys' Soccer Beats Penn Varsity: LC 1 Penn 0 JV Blue: LC 0 Penn 1 JV White: LC 1 Penn 1 The Indians come out on top of a tough battle with the 3A state ranked #8 Penn Kingsmen. Sophomore Max Kaczmarczyk with the game winner off a Junior Ethan Tarry assist. Junior Connor Billmeyer kept a clean sheet between the pipes. The Indians are now 2-1 on the young season. **Girls' XC Races to Rudy Skorupa Championship The girls' cross country team were the Rudy Skorupa Invitational team champs with a score of 23. Varsity was led by Lana Bruggeman who was the overall champion running a time of 18:19. Macey Thompson was runner-up & ran 18:34; Chloe Neal was 3rd & ran 19:00; Willow Bruggeman was 6th & ran 19:35; Aubrey Neal was 11th & ran 20:07; and Sara Filippo was 15th & ran 20:38. JV won with a score of 25 & were led by Marina Negrete who was the overall champion, Alexa Neal was runner-up, Somaya Shah was 5th, Emma Friesema was 6th, Eva Gonzalez was 11th & Izzy Groszek was 13th. The girls travel to Lafayette Harrison for another invite this weekend. LC beat Hanover 5-0 in Round 1 and Lost to CP in Round 2 by the score of 4-1. In the 3rd round, LCBT beat Harrison 3-2. The Indians are home tonight against Merrillville on the first match on the new tennis courts. Full Box Scores are attached. **Flag Football Earns 3rd Straight Win LC 26 Valparaiso 6 LC vs Hanover ppd LC is now 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the DAC with a weather-shortened victory over the Valparaiso Vikings (26-6). Game 2 of the night (Hanover Central) was postponed and make-up still TBD. The Indians racked up 205 total yards, including 179 passing yards and 3 passing touchdowns from Ana Koulianos and Ana Dobricky, leading four scoring drives. The duo connected with 7 different receivers, with Senior Peyton Martin leading the way with a game-high 7 receptions and she added an interception on defense. Emma Myszak continued to make her presence felt, hauling in 3 receptions for 67 yards and a touchdown, while adding 19 rushing yards on 2 attempts. Roxann Martinez led the defense with an impressive 7 flag pulls, while Kyrie Pollack added 4 and Naomi Dilosa contributed 3. The Lady Indians also forced 2 turnovers and held Valparaiso to just 6 points. Parker Reddick added 2 more interceptions tonight, pushing her team-leading total to an incredible 7 interceptions through the first three games.
