**Tennis Defeats Lowell Lake Central 3- Lowell 2 In the Battle for the Old Wooden Racket, that was established in 2019, Lake Central picked up their 3rd straight consecutive victory in the series with a thrilling victory over Lowell (3-2). LC is now 7-4 overall. The match finally ended about 8:30pm. This match was the annual Veteran’s (Operation Charlie Bravo) match. Lowell and Lake Central once again raised $3,000 for this great organization based out of Crown Point. EVERYONE was a winner last night. This match symbolized what high school athletics is all about: Competition, leadership, respect, and sportsmanship was on full display last night at Lowell High School. The JV won 2-0. The Indians were led by Kailey Skurka with 12 kills; Arielle Carter-Reed with 4 kills and 6 aces; and Kenley Lalich with 15 assists. The Indians take on Merrillville at home for Middle School Night tonight. Come out and support the Tribe! **Boys' Soccer Lake Central 1-- Portage 0 The boys' soccer team is now 3-0 in the DAC after a successful senior night at home yesterday. The Indians defeated Portage 1-0, on a first half goal by sophomore Joey Serna. Connor Billmeyer and the defense pitched a shutout; Billmeyer added 3 saves. The Indians are set to host Elkhart on Saturday afternoon. Last night three seniors were recognized (photos attached): Miranda Gutierrez, Nathan Villarruel, and Ayoub Hamed.
