V Softball--Lake Central 10 Merrillville 0 Freshman Maddie Such and Jolie Adams combined to hit no-hit the Merrillville Pirates. Such earned the win working 4 strong innings. She was also the leader offensively with 2 hits and 3 RBIs. Notable: The Indians earned 6 bases via HBP--Bree Bracken drew 2 of those. Box score attached below. JV Softball--Lake Central 11 Merrillville 0 Allison Meseberg no-hit the Merrillville Pirates and struck out 11 in 5 innings. The Indians were excellent offensively: Sofia Beals led the charge with 2 hits, both of which left the park for HRs, and 3 RBIs. Piper Urbanski added 2 hits and 2 RBIs, and Teagan Tripp had 2 hits (2B/3B) and 2 RBIs. Box score attached below. V Baseball--Lake Central 4 LaPorte 0 Griffin Tobias was completely dominant earning the extra inning victory. He pitched 8 innings on just 90 pitches. Tobias struck out 13, didn't allow a base-on-balls, and scattered just three hits. Josh Flores pitched a scoreless 9th for the Indians. Offensively, the Indians struggled managing just 7 hits over 9. Drew Arnold's 2-RBI single in the 9th was the difference maker. Nick Robinson and Mike Szatkowski gave the Indians a chance at the top of the order. Robinson had 2 hits, 2 RBIs, got hit by a pitch, and swiped 4 bags. Szatkowski had a hit and stole 2 bases. These two teams will do it again today. Box score attached below. JV Baseball--Lake Central 12 LaPorte 4 The game was called to darkness after 4 complete (unoffical game). Lake Central held a commanding lead. Andrew Brower, Zach Nicola, Tyler Thuftedal, and Keegan O'Bryan all had 2 hits. Cam Reddick homered and drove in 4 for LC. Box score attached below. Boys' T/F--The meet ended without 2 events being scored. Lightning pounded St. John leading to a cancellation of the last 2 events (3200 and 4 X 400). Lake Central finished 1-1 on the evening.
