Tennis--Lake Central fell to Illiana Christian and defeated LaPorte. They'll wrap up the DAC today against Crown Point. Tyler Morton fired a 76 to lead LC: He finished in 8th place in the 90 golfer field. Sebastian Darak finished in 21st with a 79. Maddie Such was the winning pitcher (12Ks) and Sofia Calderaro came on to earn a 2 inning save. Kate Renschen and Lexi Iwema had 2 hit games. Lake Central, and its 25-0 record, will host Crown Point this evening. Junior Varsity Softball-The Indians were busy: They played Crown Point and Penn on Saturday and LincolnWay Central on Monday. The girls defeated CP 6-0, Penn 3-2, and LWC 8-3. Against CP, Olivia Hurubean tossed the 7 inning shutout and helped her own cause leading the way with 3 hits. Sofia Beals homered. Against Penn, Sophia Cembala earned the complete game victory. Teagan Tripp had 2 hits and Abigail Grenchik drove in 2 runs. Against LWC, Hurubean, again, earned the complete game victory. Grenchik added 3 hits, and Hurubean and Emma Wilkins each had 2 hits. JV Blue Baseball vs Lafayette Harrison-The Indians cruised to an 11-0 game-shortened victory in game 1. Zachary Nicola earned the win on the mound tossing 5 shutout innings. Tyler Thuftedal had 2 hits and 2 RBIs, and Cam Reddick drove in 3 in the win. The second game was much closer. LC fell 4-3 to the visiting Raiders. Roman Garza tossed 4 strong and Victor Villegas was the pitcher of record in game 2. David Mansour had 3 hits for the Indians and Villegas had 2 RBIs. The boys travel to Portage Tuesday. Girls' T/F (Illiana Christian Invite)--Lake Central finished 1st of 9 teams on Friday. They scored 159 team points. Hanover Central finished 2nd with 140, and the host Vikings finished 3rd with 128. The full results and placers are in the attachments below. LC hosts the DAC Championships tonight!
