JV/V Baseball vs Michigan City-- V-Lake Central 9 Michigan City 1 JV (Blue)-Lake Central 21 Michigan City 0 The Lake Central Indians JV Blue team defeated the Michigan City Wolves 21-0 in conference play last night. The Indians were led offensively by Jacob Forystek, who provided one of the more outrageous offensive stat lines of the year, driving in 8 run on 2 doubles and 2 home runs. Marc Passo, Ryan Mikolanis, Justin Makowski, and Logan Barbush combined for the 13 K shutout of the Wolves. The state ranked #1 varsity baseball team remained undefeated as they cruised to a 9-1 victory of the MC Wolves. The Indians pitched by committee last night: Josh Flores (2 IP), Zach Nicola (1 IP), Tyler Thuftedal (1 IP), and Dylan Hein (3 IP) combined for the victory. The offense was stymied by the Wolves pitching; however, they managed to draw 8 walks and get plunked by 5 pitches for 13 free passes. Luke Moffitt and Parker Robinson both doubled. JV/V Volleyball @ Valparaiso-- JV-LC 2 Valparaiso 0 V-LC 3 Valparaiso 1 The junior varsity boys' volleyball team, overcoming deficits in both sets, swept the home Vikings in straight sets and the varsity took care of DAC rival Valparaiso in a 3-1 win last night. Set 1: 25-17 Set 2: 25-21 Set 3: 24-26 Set 4: 25-20 The Indians were led by Danny Smith with 15 kills, 8 digs and 5 aces; Christian Czarnik had 10 kills and 3 aces; Brady Cook and Nelko Dragulski both had 19 assists; and Juan Flores contributed 24 digs and 3 aces. JV/V Softball @ Merrillville-- JV-Lake Central 13 Merrillville 0 V-Lake Central 13 Merrillville 0 The JV softball team got back in the win column with a 13-0 victory over the Merrillville Pirates. Allison Meseberg was the winning pitcher. Meseberg fired a PERFECT GAME and struck out 13 of the 15 outs. The offense contributed greatly in this one adding 25 hits (6 for extra bases). All 9 hitters added a hit, and 8 of the 9 hitters had multiple hits. Soleil Snyder and Cali Ramirez led the hit parade with 4 hits each. The state ranked #1 LC Indians softball team also defeated Merrillville 13-0. Jada Lewis tossed a 13 strikeout-1-hitter for the victory. Peyton Martin led the 13-run outburst with 3 hits, 2 runs, and 3 batted in. Sofia Beals added a pair of hits, and Lexi Iwema drove in 3 runs. The JV/V will host the Valparaiso Vikings tonight. The softball team has climbed to the #38 ranked position nationally. Girls' Track & Field--Lake Central/Michigan City/Chesterton Lake Central 79 Chesterton 53 Lake Central 122 Michigan City 9 The Indians racked up 2 more DAC wins on senior night last night. They defeated the visiting Trojans and Wolves to move to 4-0 in the DAC. Boys' Track & Field--Lake Central/Michigan City/Chesterton Lake Central 26 Chesterton 106 Lake Central 111 Michigan City 17 The boys' track & field team fell to 1-3 overall in the DAC by splitting with the host Trojans and Michigan City Wolves. LC defeated MC handily and lost significantly to Chesterton. Last night, the Indians were victorious in 2 events: Cody Kostecki won the pole vault flying 13' and the 4X400M relay team of Niko Marinkovic, Mike Schutz, Kendell Bishop, and Tim O'Brien were winners.
