4/23 Update--Tennis, Baseball, and Softball Keep Rollin'

The girls' JV and Varsity tennis' teams remained unbeaten with two impressive wins over Hanover Central at home last night. The girls will look to carry this momentum into an extremely tough tournament in Crawfordsville on Saturday (Athenian Invite). Varsity Lake Central 4 Hanover Central 1 #1S: Nora Karr (LC) def Aubree Ducret (HC) 6-0, 6-1 #2S: Tatiana Marjanovich (LC) def Carly Campos (11) 6-0, 6-2 #3S: Jillian Sanders (HC) def Mazy Redhead (LC) 6-1, 6-1 #1D: Andie Schultz / Lyla Hurey (LC) def Jenna Nisevich / Gabriella Hernandez (HC) 6-3, 6-1 #2D: Charlotte Barnard / Jovana Kraguljac (LC) def Jill Ball / Josephine Silva (HC) 6-2, 6-0 JV Lake Central 4 Hanover Central 1 JV/V Softball vs Valparaiso @ Lake Central JV--LC 12 Valparaiso 0 V--LC 7 Valparaiso 1 The junior varsity team moved to 9-1 overall with a 12-0 victory over DAC foe Valparaiso. The girls are now 9-1 overall on the season. Sophia Cembala piggy-backed off of Allison Meseberg's perfect game yesterday and fired a no-hitter, striking out 9 in her 5 innings of work. The Indians managed 12 runs on 7 hits by drawing 10 base on balls. Meseberg had the only multi-hit game, and Reagan Equihua and Kyrie Pollack both drove in 2 runs. The varsity team moved to 13-1 overall and 7-0 in the DAC. Jada Lewis pitched LC to the 7-1 victory with her complete game effort. Lewis struck out 11 Viking hitters and surrendered just 6 hits (3 of those coming in the first inning). The Indians offense had a balanced 10-hit attack Wednesday night: Lexi Iwema led the charge with 3 hits and 3 RBIs; Kate Renschen contributed a pair of hits and runs from the leadoff spot; MaKayla Van Vossen also filled the stat sheet with 2 hits, 3 runs scored, and 2 batted in. Izzy Calinski added a pair of RBIs. The top team in Indians heads south on Friday to take on Carmel, Avon, and Noblesville in the Carmel Invitational. JV/V Baseball @ Michigan City JV--LC 19 MC 1 V--LC 23 MC 0 The JV baseball team moved to 6-1 overall. The varsity baseball team holds the top ranked spot in Indiana and continued its winning ways with a 23-0 victory over the host Wolves. LC is 9-0 overall.
