JV/V Golf vs Crown Point and Chesterton @ Palmira GC Lake Central Boys' Golf beat Chesterton and Crown Point in a 9-hole match at Palmira on Wednesday, 4/30/2025. With senior, Troy Howell, being the 1st place individual medalist with an even par 37. Freshman, Cole Sullivan came in 2nd place individually with a 38, one over par. And senior Matthew Tuley tied for 3rd place with a two over par round of 39. LC JV beat Chesterton Varsity by 14 strokes and lost to Crown Point's Varsity by 1 stroke. Team Scores: Lake Central 156 1st Crown Point 161 2nd LC JV 162 3rd Chesterton 176 4th JV/V Volleyball @ Illiana Christian After a tough loss on Wednesday the LC Boys' Volleyball Program came back with a vengeance with a sweep over Illiana Christian winning 3-0. The JV had a tough loss 0-2. Set 1: 25-15 Set 2: 25-22 Set 3: 26-24 The Indians were led by Leo Meseberg’s 8 kills, Teo Olmstead’s 7 kills, Brady Cook's 18 assists and 3 aces, and Juan Flores' 17 digs and 2 aces. The Tribe is at home tonight against Michigan City and looks to continue their DAC winning streak. JV/V Softball JV vs Hanover Central--LC 11 HC 0 V vs Michigan City--LC 12 MC 1 The varsity hit the DAC road and traveled to Michigan City; their 12-1 victory kept them atop the DAC standings and moved them to 17-2 overall. Jada Lewis was the winning pitcher striking out 7 and allowing just one hit. Moira Falli, in her first varsity pitching appearance, tossed 3 innings of 2 hit ball in relief. The Indians didn't get much of a chance to hit as they drew 14 freebies and were hit by a pitch. Madi Wainright an Peyton Martin had two hits each; Martin's both went for 3-bases. The Indians will play at Lafayette Harrison tomorrow and play host to the Lowell Red Devils on Monday. The JV team moved to 10-2 with an 11-0 victory over Hanover Central. Sophia Cembala tossed 5 scoreless and K'd 10 for the victory. Cali Ramirez kept swinging a hot bat adding 2 more hits, including a double and 3 batted in. Emma Wilkins doubled and scored a run. Soleil Snyder scored 3 runs and drove in 1. JV (White)/JV (Blue)/V Baseball vs Chesterton JV White--LC 9 Chesterton 2 JV Blue--Chesterton 4 LC 3 Varsity--LC 10 Chesterton 3 The Indians remained unbeaten in the DAC and moved to 12-2 overall thanks to a monster night at the plate from Dylan Hein. Hein reached base in all plate appearances: He finished 3-3 with 2 runs scored and 5 RBIs. Hein doubled twice and went big fly for 8 total bases from the senior. Jake Figg was 3-5 in the leadoff spot, and Luke Halfeldt added a pair of singles. Keegan O'Bryan drove in 2. Luke O'Keefe earned the victory on the mound, going 6+ strong. Baseball hits the road for a stretch starting Friday at Munster and Saturday at Lincoln Way Central (IL). The Lake Central JV Blue Indians fell to the Chesterton Trojans in a tough 4-3 loss on the road. Ryan Mikolanis and Connor Friesema combined to strike out 8 Trojans hitters on the evening. Friesma didn't allow a hit in his 2 innings of relief. Anthony Sanchez, Brayden Walls, Hunter Segal, and Jacob Forystek each had a hit for the Indians. LC is now 7-4 overall. After a slow start, the 4-4-1 JV White team hasn't lost in their last 5 (4 wins/1 tie). Evan Smith was the winning pitcher tossing 4 2/3 and Jaxon Glinski slammed the door with a scoreless 2 1/3. Benjamin Tobias went 3-3 with a pair of RBIs; Michael Zilinger and Lazar Alavanja had multiple hit efforts.
