It was a great day for the student-athletes at Lake Central. Lake Central assured itself of at least 4 DAC titles for spring sports. Volleyball has already completed their 14-0 DAC season to win the league. Girls' tennis guaranteed itself a first place share with a win over rival Crown Point last night. This will be tennis' 1st title since LC joined the DAC in 2002-2003. If they defeat Merrillville tomorrow the girls will be the outright champions. Softball has moved to 12-0 in the DAC with two games left to play; a senior night victory tonight over Merrillville and the girls will be the DAC Champions. Baseball defeated Crown Point at home last night and they're now 11-0 in the DAC. The rubber match tonight will likely determine either a share of the DAC or sole possession of first place. Girls' T/F finished the regular season 6-1 and finished 2nd at the conference meet locking up at 2nd place conference finish. Still to come...boys' golf is tied atop the conference at 6-1 with lots more golf still to be played. Boys' T/F hosts the DAC Championships tonight to determine placement.
