Boys' T/F DAC Championships @ LC--7th Place Last night, Lake Central hosted the annual Boys' DAC Track and Field Championships. The Indians finished in 7th place in the 8 team field (team results are attached). There were several highlights for the evening for LC: 4X800M relay (2nd)--Tim O'Brien, Evan Smith, Kris Garner, Mike Schutz 800M (4th)--Kris Garner 300H (DAC CHAMPION)--Aaron O'Neill 200M (4th)--Jacob White-Hutsler The full meet results are attached and can be found at this link: https://url.usb.m.mimecastprotect.com/s/ak3vCN7ooxhZB9q9hjiZfyM-Xn?domain=live.temporuntiming.com JV (White)/JV (Blue)/V Baseball vs Crown Point Varsity--LC 0 CP 3 JV Blue--LC 11 CP 3 JV White--LC 4 CP 5 V-Lake Central lost on the road to Crown Point last night 3-0. This ran their conference record to 11-1 overall (tied for 1st) with two games left to play. The Indians will play Merrillville next week and they control their own fate in the league standings. Yesterday, Luke O'Keefe was the pitcher of record tossing 5 strong innings and allowing just 3 hits and 3 runs; O'Keefe fell victim to walks, allowing 7 free passes. Victor Villegas broke up the no hit effort with one out in the 7th. The Indians host the Region Classic this weekend on Friday and Saturday. LC will play Mishawaka Marian and Indianapolis Cathedral on Friday night. JVB-The Lake Central JV Blue Indians defeated the Crown Point Bulldogs 11-3 on Wednesday evening. The Indians bats exploded in this game with 2 hits each from Anthony Sanchez, Jacob Forystek, and Brayden Walls. Brayden Walls added 3 RBIs, and Isaac Ochoa reached base 3 times in the contest. Ryan Mikolanis turned in a masterful performance, twirling 6+ innings and walking only 2 Bulldog hitters. Justin Makowski closed the game out for the Indians on the mound. JVW-The Indians dropped another tight one after a dramatic comeback in the 6th innings. Adrian Claussen was the pitcher of record for LC. Matt Tuftedal added the only extra base hit and 4 other Indians' hitters singled on the evening. Evan Smith was strong in his starting role working 3.2 innings and not allowing an earned run. JV/Varsity Softball vs Merrillville V-LC 11 Merrillville 0 JV-LC 10 Merrillville 0 V-Softball kept their unblemished DAC record alive defeating Merrillville in a run-rule shortened game. They are the 2025 DAC Champions (albeit there is one game to play). The freshman Jada Lewis tossed a shut out on senior night, and she struck out 9. Lexi Iwema, Kate Renschen, Jessy Del Toro, and MaKayla Van Vossen all had at least two hits. LC will host the nationally ranked Marist Redhawks on Monday and wrap up DAC play against Valparaiso next week. JV-Allison Meseberg threw a no hitter and struck out 10; she also highlighted the offense with 2 hits.
